What a paid install covers, what it does not, and where to download the printed installation guides in English.

Overview

Starlink sells professional installation through trained third-party installers in selected markets, for Residential plans only. In the US you add it at checkout when buying a kit. Elsewhere you contact the in-country partner directly.

If the roof installation option does not appear after you enter your address, no installer covers that address, even if the wider area is supported.

What a standard install includes

Coverage varies by country, so confirm with the local partner. Typically:

  • A trained technician picks the best dish location for signal.
  • The dish is mounted, with the mount included.
  • The cable is routed from the dish to the nearest entry point of the building.
  • The router is connected and powered at that entry point.
  • The system is activated and tested, and you get a walkthrough of the app.

Practical details: the installer may call you beforehand, somebody 18 or over has to be present, and the job usually takes about 90 minutes.

What it does not include

  • Pole mounts. Installers cannot do them.
  • Deinstallation. Starlink does not support it at all.
  • Extra accessories. Bought separately.
  • Anything unusual. Extended travel, awkward building types, longer cables, trenching or specialised routing all attract extra fees.

Refunds and liability

Starlink refunds installations only if you bought them through the Starlink website. Prices negotiated directly with an install partner are between you and that partner, and Starlink takes no responsibility for damage or liability arising from third-party work. This is Section 4.1 of the online terms.

If a free installation came bundled with your order, book it through the link in the scheduling email rather than the public installer list.

Finding an installer

The list of partners, phone numbers and scheduling links is maintained per country by Starlink and changes often. Check Does Starlink provide installers? for the current list.

In France, Germany and Switzerland there is also a map of recommended third-party installers. Those have experience with the hardware but have not done Starlink’s training.

Printed installation guides

Starlink publishes the kit installation booklets as PDFs. English is available for every kit, alongside around 20 other languages including German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Polish, Ukrainian, Turkish, Arabic and Indonesian.

There is no Persian edition of any of them.
