Terms of use

This is an information site: product descriptions, setup guides, news and articles about keeping an internet connection working when it is throttled, filtered or shut down.

We are not an internet provider. We do not sell connectivity, do not operate accounts for you, and do not run a service you subscribe to. Everything here is documentation and software you install and run yourself.

You may read, save, print, translate, mirror and pass on the content of this site for personal, educational and non-commercial purposes. Mirroring the site or reposting a guide so that it survives being blocked is not merely permitted. It is the point, and you have our permission in advance.

When you do, keep the meaning intact, do not present altered text as ours, and say where it came from.

Selling this content, or bundling it into a paid product or service, needs our written permission first.

Each piece of software we publish carries its own licence in its repository, and that licence sets out what you may do with the code, including any right to modify and redistribute it.

Nothing in these terms grants you a licence to our name, logo or branding.

Download builds only from this site, from an address we have announced on the channels in the footer, or from our repositories on GitHub. Every release is published with a checksum: check your file against it before you install anything.

A tampered build is the most direct way to attack someone using a tool like this. We take no responsibility for software obtained anywhere else, or for modified copies distributed under our name.

The site, the guides and the software are provided as they are, without warranty of any kind. We work to keep the information accurate, but networks and the restrictions placed on them change constantly, and guidance that was correct last month may not be correct today.

We do not promise that the site will be reachable, that a build will work on your hardware, or that any particular method will keep working.

Read this section even if you skip the rest.

The tools described here can reduce certain risks. They cannot remove them. Nobody can honestly promise that a connection is undetectable, unblockable or untraceable to you. That includes us, and it includes anyone selling you something.

How much risk you carry depends on where you are, what you do, who is watching and how you configure things. That assessment is yours to make. Nothing on this site is legal advice, and nothing here should be treated as a guarantee of your safety.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for any loss or damage arising from use of this site, of the information on it, or of the software we publish. That includes damage to equipment, loss of data, loss of connectivity, and any consequence of relying on guidance published here.

In exchange for all of the above being free and open, we ask a short list of things.

Our guides refer to hardware and services made by other companies. Their names and marks belong to their owners, we are not affiliated with them, and nothing here implies that they endorse this project.

Any equipment or service you buy from a third party is governed by that party’s own terms, prices and availability, none of which we control.

Some of the software and hardware discussed here is subject to export-control and sanctions rules in one country or another, and the rules that apply to you depend on where you are and who you are.

You are responsible for complying with the law that applies to you when you download, install, export or redistribute anything from this site.

This site may become slow, unreachable or blocked, and its address may change. Current addresses are announced on the channels linked in the footer. We may change, move or withdraw any part of the site at any time.

We never ask for passwords or payment, on any channel, ever. If a site or message asks you for either in our name, it is not us. Check it against the addresses announced on those channels.

This site links to sites we do not control. We are not responsible for their content, their accuracy or what they do with your data, and a link is not an endorsement. Read their own terms and privacy policies.

The text, images, logos and design of this site remain ours, except where a licence or a credit says otherwise. The permissions granted above for personal, educational and non-commercial use, including mirroring, are the exception to that. They are not a transfer of ownership.

We may update these terms. Changes are published on this page with a new date at the top, and continuing to use the site after that means you accept them.

Questions about these terms, permission requests for commercial use, and reports of anyone impersonating the project can go to our Telegram channel or to the project on GitHub. Both are linked in the footer.

If you have found a security problem in our software, please report it through GitHub rather than posting it publicly in a channel.
