Step two asks which port carries each uplink, and for the wireless credentials if an uplink is WiFi.

Overview

The WAN step is where you tell the wizard which physical port is wired to which uplink. In Dual-Link mode you fill in two sections, Domestic WAN first and then Starlink WAN; in Starlink-Only mode there is just the one. The diagram beside the form updates as you choose, so you can see each interface land in the topology.

Each section starts with an interface-type picker. Only the types the router actually has are offered, because the panel reads the interface list off the device and shows ethernet, wireless, SFP and LTE accordingly. Choosing a type filters the interface dropdown below it, and the same interface cannot be assigned to both uplinks.

Before you start

  • Know which port each uplink is plugged into.
  • If an uplink is a wireless client, have the upstream network’s SSID and password ready. The password must be at least 8 characters.
  • The interface list loads from the router, so the credentials for this session must be valid, or the pickers come up empty.

Steps

  1. In Domestic WAN (Dual-Link only), pick the interface type, then pick the interface from the dropdown below it.
  2. If you chose wireless, fill in the Domestic wireless SSID and password that appear.
  3. Repeat for Starlink WAN: interface type, then interface. If it is wireless, fill in the Starlink wireless SSID and password.
  4. Press Next.

Field What it does
Interface type picker Chooses between ethernet, wireless, SFP and LTE. Only types present on the router appear.
Ethernet interface / Wireless interface / SFP interface / LTE interface The port itself. The label follows the type you picked. The other uplink’s interface is excluded from the list.
SSID (wireless only) Name of the upstream network this uplink joins. Required.
Password (wireless only) Passphrase for that network. At least 8 characters.

Troubleshooting

“Select the Starlink interface.” / “Select the domestic interface.” The interface dropdown is still on Select interface.

“Starlink wireless SSID is required.” / “Domestic wireless SSID is required.” The uplink is set to wireless but the SSID is blank.

“… wireless password must be at least 8 characters.” Wireless uplink passwords are held to the same 8-character minimum as WPA.

The interface dropdowns are empty. The panel could not read the interface list from the router. Reconnect to the router and reopen the wizard.
