Easy Config wizard

First-time router setup in five steps, from connection type and WAN ports to IP-Mask, WiFi and VPN Server, then applying it all with Apply.

Overview

Once Nasnet Panel is installed and the router is added, the next job is configuring the router. The first time you connect to a router the panel has not configured yet, the Easy Config wizard opens. It collects what it needs in five steps, Choose, WAN, IP-Mask, WiFi and VPN Server, and when you press Apply at the end it applies the whole configuration to the router in one go.

Until the first setup is complete, the main tabs stay hidden and opening any other section brings you back to the wizard. You can run it again later from Diagnostics → Reset and Reconfigure.

Buttons and options are named as they appear in the panel’s English interface. Some options may differ depending on your router model or panel version.

Before you start

  • The router has been added and you are connected to it. See Adding a router.
  • Know which ports carry your internet. You need to know which MikroTik port the Starlink cable and the domestic internet router’s cable plug into.
  • Have your outbound VPN details ready. IP-Mask needs a WireGuard config file or L2TP connection details. You can also use the free Nasnet Panel VPN.
  • For a wireless WAN, have the upstream network’s name and password ready.
  • Make sure you can reach the router itself. The connection to the panel may drop briefly while the settings are applied. Read the temporary access section of Applying the configuration before you start.

Steps

  1. Choose the setup mode, Dual-Link or Starlink-Only. This decides which steps you see next.
  2. Set the internet connections in WAN, picking the port or wireless interface for each one.
  3. Set up the outbound VPN in IP-Mask to hide the Starlink IP.
  4. Set up WiFi with a network name and password.
  5. If you need it, set up the VPN Server so devices can connect to the router from outside the network. This step is not shown in Starlink-Only mode.
  6. Press Apply on the last step and wait for it to finish. See Applying the configuration.

Next moves to the following step. If the current step is incomplete, it does nothing and shows what is missing. Back returns to the previous step. On the last step the main button changes to Apply.

Troubleshooting

Every section sends you back to the wizard. This router has not finished its first setup. Complete the wizard. If you already did, the panel may be unable to read the wizard’s state from the router, and treats it as unconfigured.

Missing router credentials. The session lost this router’s login details. Go back to the router list and connect to it again.
