Slave Router

Pick the second MikroTik that will act as the access point.

Overview

This sub-step only appears in Advanced Mode when you selected Router + Access Point Mode. It is the same router picker as the Router Model step, used a second time to identify the downstream device that will act as the access point. The router you chose earlier stays the master; the one you choose here is the slave.

The choice matters for the next two sub-steps. The wizard checks whether both devices have Wi-Fi before it lets you build a wireless trunk between them, and the interface lists offered on Router + Access Point Interface come from the two models you have now selected.

Before you start

  • Have the second device’s exact model name to hand.
  • The wizard can generate configurations for more than one slave router; each gets its own downloadable script on Show Config.
