Identity

Name the router and decide whether RoMON discovery is on.

Overview

The screen is titled Identity Settings, described as “Configure router identity and remote access”. It is the shortest sub-step in the wizard: a name for the router, and a toggle for RoMON.

The identity is the name RouterOS reports about itself, and it is what you see in WinBox’s neighbour list and in the title bar once you are connected. Giving each router a distinct name matters as soon as you have more than one, which you will if you configured a router plus an access point.

Steps

  1. Enter a name in Router Identity.
  2. Turn Romon on or off.
