# Slave Router

## Overview

This sub-step only appears in **Advanced Mode** when you selected **Router +
Access Point Mode**. It is the same router picker as the **Router Model**
step, used a second time to identify the downstream device that will
act as the access point. The router you chose earlier stays the master; the one
you choose here is the slave.

The choice matters for the next two sub-steps. The wizard checks whether both
devices have Wi-Fi before it lets you build a wireless trunk between them, and
the interface lists offered on **Router + Access Point Interface** come from the
two models you have now selected.

## Before you start

- Have the second device's exact model name to hand.
- The wizard can generate configurations for more than one slave router; each
  gets its own downloadable script on **Show Config**.
