Volunteers now run mirrors in 14 provinces, so a blocked download has somewhere else to come from.

A mirror is only useful if it is close to you and still reachable when the nearest one is not. This week the volunteer network crossed a hundred active nodes.
Why the count matters
Blocking tends to arrive one address at a time. The more independent places a build is served from, the longer it takes for all of them to disappear at once.
Running one yourself
A mirror needs very little: a few gigabytes of disk, a stable connection, and someone willing to keep it patched.
