Over the past week we have seen archives passed around under our name that we did not publish. They install a working client alongside a second process that reports back.
How to tell
Every release we publish is signed. Verifying the signature takes under a minute and is the only reliable check — file size and name prove nothing.
If you already installed one
Remove it, change any password you typed while it was running, and reinstall from a mirror listed on this site.
