Reading the connection log without guessing

The panel writes down more than it shows. Four lines tell you almost everything about why a session dropped.

A dropped session leaves a trail, and the trail is short. You are looking for four things, in this order.

Who gave up first

The side that logged the disconnect first is usually not the side that caused it. Compare timestamps across both ends before deciding.

What the clock says

Time skew produces failures that look like anything else. If the two logs disagree about when now is, fix that before reading further.

What changed

Sessions rarely break on their own. Something was renewed, rotated or rebooted, and the log line before the failure usually names it.
