Shutdowns are rarely total and rarely sudden. Most of what decides whether you stay online is arranged days earlier.
Prepare while it is quiet
Download the installers you would need, write down the addresses you rely on, and make sure someone else in the house knows how to restart the link.
Two paths beat one fast path
A slow satellite link that stays up is worth more than a fast domestic one that does not. Configure both and let failover choose.
Power is half the problem
A small UPS that carries the router and the dish through an hour of outage keeps a connection that would otherwise be lost for the evening.
