## Overview

If WiFi works and ethernet does not, the satellite link is fine. The fault is
in the cable, the device, or the Starlink hardware. These three tests tell you
which, in order.

## Steps

### 1. Try a different ethernet cable

If a different cable works, the original cable was the problem. Done.

### 2. Try a different device with the working cable

If only one device fails, the fault is that device's ethernet port. Contact its
manufacturer.

### 3. If no device works

The Starlink ethernet adapter or the Starlink router is at fault.

## Getting help

Submit a support ticket with:

- Photos of the equipment, covering the ethernet adapter, the ports, the
  connectors and any visible damage.
- The steps you have already tried.

Residential customers in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand also have a
24/7 phone line for connection problems. The numbers are on the
[Starlink Help Center](https://www.starlink.com/support).
