## Overview

The **Updates** page keeps two things current: the Nasnet Panel app and the
RouterOS firmware on the router you are connected to. Each gets its own card
showing the version you are on, the latest available, and a badge reading
either **up to date** or **update available**. An install button appears only
when there is something newer.

It is not a router tab, so reach it from the header menu under **Updates &
notifications**.

## Before you start

- Connect to a router first. Without an active router session both cards read
"Connect to a router first to check for app updates."
- A firmware install reboots the router, so connectivity drops briefly.

## Steps

### Updating the panel

1. Open **Updates & notifications** from the header menu.
2. Read the **App update** card. It shows the current version, the release
date, and a **Release notes** link out to the release.
3. If it says **update available**, press **Install app** and confirm.
4. Watch the progress bar move through **Preparing update**, **Downloading new
version** and **Restarting panel**. The panel restarts itself at the end.

### Updating RouterOS firmware

1. Read the **RouterOS firmware** card on the same page.
2. If it says **update available**, press **Install firmware**.
3. Confirm in the **Install RouterOS firmware?** dialog. The router reboots
   once the package is applied.

## Reference

| Card | What it updates |
| ---- | --------------- |
| **App update** | The Nasnet Panel container running on the router. |
| **RouterOS firmware** | The RouterOS package on the router. |

### App update progress stages

| Stage | Label |
| ----- | ----- |
| 1 | Preparing update |
| 2 | Downloading new version |
| 3 | Restarting panel |

## Troubleshooting

**"Connect to a router first to check for app updates."** No router session is
active. Open a router, then come back.

**The install button never appears.** You are already on the latest version, and
the badge reads **up to date**.

**The panel becomes unreachable during an app update.** It is restarting.
Reload the page after a moment.
