# LAN Interfaces

> Decide which network bridge each Ethernet port belongs to.

## Overview

Titled **LAN Interfaces** in the stepper and **LAN Interface Configuration** on
the screen, this sub-step does for cables what **Wireless** does for Wi-Fi:
*"Configure Ethernet interfaces and assign them to network bridges."* Each row is
one physical port, and you pick which network it joins from Split, Domestic,
Foreign or VPN.

It only appears in **Advanced Mode**. In Easy Mode the wizard does this itself,
assigning every unoccupied Ethernet port to a single network, picking the first
available of Split, VPN, Domestic and Foreign in that order.

Ports already spoken for by a WAN link or a trunk to an access point are shown as
**Not Available**, with a note saying what is using them.

## Before you start

- Know which device is on which port. Once the script is applied, moving a
  device between networks means moving its cable.
- You cannot assign a port that an earlier step already claimed.

## Steps

1. Look down the **Interface** column for the port you want to assign.
2. Pick its network in the **Network** column.
3. Check the **Status** column shows the row as configured.
4. Click **Save Settings**. **Reset** clears your assignments and starts over.

| **Status** | **Available**, **Configured**, or **Not Available** with the reason |

## Troubleshooting

**A port shows "Not Available — Used by …".** Something earlier in the wizard
claimed it: a WAN link on the **WAN** step, or a trunk on **Router + Access
Point Interface**. Change that assignment if you need the port here.

**"No interfaces available."** Every Ethernet port on the router is already in
use.
