# Router + Access Point Interface

## Overview

The screen is titled **Configure Router + Access Point Interface**, described as *"Select the
specific interfaces for your trunk connection"*. Having decided *whether* the
trunk is wired or wireless on the previous sub-step, here you say *which* port
on each device carries it. You pick a **Master Router Interface** and a **Slave
Router Interface**; the step is not complete until both sides are chosen, and
the app prompts *"Select interfaces on both routers to complete configuration"*
until they are.

If the trunk is wireless, you also choose a frequency band. The band applies to
every router in the trunk, and the app says so explicitly: *"All routers will use
the same band."*

With more than one slave router, the screen becomes **Configure Router + Access
Point Connections**, a mapping table described as *"Map each slave router to a
master interface"*, with one row per slave showing its connection type, master
interface and slave interface, and a running **Configured** count.

## Before you start

- Know which physical port you will use on each device, and do not pick one
  already assigned to a WAN link.
- For a wireless trunk, check that both routers support the band you intend to
  use. If they share no common band the wizard says so: *"The selected routers
  don't share any common wireless bands."*

## Steps

1. Under **Master Router Interface**, select the port on the main router.
2. Under **Slave Router Interface**, select the port on the access point.
3. For a wireless trunk, pick the band under **Select Wireless Band**.
4. When both sides are set the screen shows **Router + Access Point ready**.

## Troubleshooting

**"No Common Wireless Bands Available".** The routers you selected do not
support the same wireless band, and a wireless trunk requires that they do. Go
back to **Interface Type** and choose a wired trunk, or change one of the router
models.
