## Overview

The screen is titled **Choose Your Router**. Models are grouped into family
tabs, and each card shows the device's capabilities and metrics; clicking
through opens a details panel with more. The in-app help puts it plainly:
*"Different models have varying capabilities like port counts, wireless
features, and processing power that affect the generated configuration."*

Everything downstream depends on this answer. The interface pickers on the
**WAN** and **LAN** steps are populated from this model's real interface list,
covering its Ethernet ports, SFP ports, wireless radios and LTE modem, so choosing the
wrong model produces a script that references ports your router does not have.

## Before you start

- Check the exact model name on the label on the underside of the router. The
wizard distinguishes between close relatives such as hAP ax2 and hAP ax3.
- If your router is not in the list, use the **Custom Router** option, described
as *"Configure your own router with custom interfaces and specifications"*, and describe its
  interfaces yourself.

## Steps

1. Pick the family tab that matches your device.
2. Click your model's card. Open its details if you want to confirm the
   interface list before committing.
3. If your model is not listed, open **Custom Router** and enter its interfaces.
